Weight No More Physician


Dr. Montes was born and raised in California. She attended college at Arizona State University and completed medical school at the University of California in San Diego. As a board certified obstetrician gynecologist, she has been practicing in Hickory since 1990. Previously with Piedmont OB GYN, she has had her own private practice, Adolescent and Adult Women’s Care which she opened in August of 2007. She has since closed this practice (on 9/30/2010) and is now working in Shelby at the Cleveland Regional Medical Center. There she works as a "laborist", an obstetrician on the labor and delivery ward of the hospital, where she delivers babies and provides prenatal care 2 days a week.

Always interested in public service, Dr. Montes has worked intimately with such causes as breast cancer awareness, women and heart disease, adolescent care and hispanic advocacy. Her work and dedication over the years is what led her to be named as an “Outstanding Woman of Catawba Valley” by the League of Women Voters in 2008. Now opening a weight loss clinic is just another way to serve the community she loves. She has taken the initiative to have the entire office staff complete an intensive training in weight loss management so as to provide not only an effective but safe program.
