Frequently Asked Questions:

Why should I come to
Weight No More, instead of some other diet program?
There are a multitude of weight loss programs, clinics, books, and plans out there. Few actually work long term to help you maintain that healthy weight that you want, or have the level of supervision and safety that we have. This plan Is based on sound medical concepts. The diet is effective, the appetite suppressants used are all FDA approved and each patient is carefully monitored. Our entire staff has completed intensive training to help guide you along the way and make sure that your experience is positive.

What are the appetite suppressants?

They are safe, effective and control hunger. All medications used are FDA approved and recommended by the National Institute of Health for long term weight loss.

Is Fen/Phen used?
Absolutely not. The combination of fenfluramine and phentermine has been taken off of the market and is not available due to it’s negative effect on health.

Do the Injections control your appetite?
No, only the appetite suppressant controls appetite. The injections do however, help your body to eliminate fats, control carbohydrate metabolism, aid your immune system and increase your energy.

Is the injection BHCG?
No BHCG is not used it this program. There have been no good long term studies showing the benefit of its use in weight loss.

What is the average weight loss of a patient?
The typical patient loses 5-10 pounds the first week and 15-20 pounds the first month.

Do I have to come into the office weekly?
Weekly visits are ESSENTIAL to the success of the program. It not only gives us an opportunity to dispense medication, but also to assess your progress and to sit one on one with you to discuss any problems or concerns.

What is the nutritional plan?
We use a low calorie diet consisting of lean protein, favorable carbohydrates and good fats. The nutritional plan is proven and effective as it increased the body’s ability to burn fat and curb sweet and starch cravings.

Do I have to exercise?
As part of our personal assessment, we will evaluate your current level of exercise and make recommendations that will instill exercise into your lifestyle as an aid in meeting your healthy weight range.

How long does the initial consultation last?
You should schedule 1 hour to 1 and 1/2 hours for this initial consultation.

Can men enter the program, even though Dr. Montes is a gynecologist?

Yes men can enter the program. The Weight No More office is a separate entity from Dr. Montes’ gynecologic practice.

Can this be billed to insurance?
No. Insurance companies do not reimburse weight loss programs, even when there is a medical indication. Some patients now have health care savings programs that they might be able to use toward a program like this. We do not however bill insurance for you. We can supply a letter that the patient can submit on his/her own.

Can children enter the program?
Yes, children as young as 12 can enter the program. Appetite suppressants will not be used on anyone any younger than 16. The cost for children is substantially reduced compared to adults, because of the importance to Dr. Montes of helping this group to lose weight and learn health habits early.
